my pcos journey
My health journey really began when I decided to take charge of my body and understand it for myself. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) at sixteen, and like so many girls, my doctor immediately put me on birth control to “regulate” my period. I stayed on it for over eight years. It felt simple at the time, but eventually something in me knew there had to be another way. I didn’t want to just manage symptoms anymore. I wanted to actually support my body.
When I finally stopped taking the pill, everything changed, and not in the easy way. My hormones went a wild. My skin broke out, my cycle disappeared, and for the first time, I realized how much my body had been depending on something external to function. It was overwhelming, but it also became the turning point. I knew I had to start from the inside out.
So I focused on food, rest, and consistency. I learned how powerful nutrition is, how connected our hormones are to our overall wellbeing, and how much small daily habits really matter. It wasn’t an overnight fix. It took patience, trial and error, and a lot of grace with myself, but over time my body began to find its rhythm again.
Slowly, my skin started to clear, my energy came back, and my period returned naturally. That moment was huge, not because everything was perfect, but because I finally felt in tune with my body for the first time ever. I learned that healing doesn’t come from control. It comes from listening, nourishing, and trusting the process.
This experience sparked something in me. I decided to get certified as a health and nutrition coach and began sharing my journey online, the foods, recipes, and routines that helped me feel my best. It started as a passion project and grew into this amazing community of people who want to live well, eat well, and feel their best.
my story
I grew up in Germany, surrounded by simplicity and nature, which probably explains why I’ve always been drawn to a slower pace of life. I've also always been curious about life outside of what I knew, traveling, exploring, and experiencing new cultures.
During college, I studied abroad in England, and that’s where I met Spencer, an American boy from California. We were in our early twenties, just figuring out life, and somehow ended up meeting in the most random way. It felt like instant chemistry. That same night, he emailed his friend and wrote, “I’m going to marry this girl.”
Four years of long distance followed with countless flights, time zone math, and long Skype calls (back when Skype was a thing). In 2015, I finally made the leap. I moved to the States, married my best friend, and started a new chapter in a new country.
LA felt like home right away. The sunshine, palm trees, and ocean nearby made it feel like everything I didn’t know I needed. It gave me the space to keep growing into the person I wanted to be. I went plant-based to support my health journey, started cooking everything from scratch, and began sharing what I was learning with others.
That’s really where everything came together for me. My love of food, my passion for wellness, and my desire to make healthy living approachable. I wanted to show that taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be complicated or restrictive. It can be simple, colorful, and full of joy.
where i am now
Right now, I’m in a season of creating and building my dream life one day at a time.
I feel grateful every day to live where the ocean, sunshine, and nature are part of daily life. I make time to move my body, get outside, and catch as many sunsets as I can. Those moments keep me grounded and remind me what really matters.
This space is an extension of all of that. It’s a place where I get to share what makes me feel good in hopes that it inspires you to do the same.
I don't have it all figured out, but I’ve learned that feeling good starts with small, consistent choices and a lot of self-compassion. I’ve learned that when we create space for what truly matters, life starts to feel really good. And if anything I share helps you do the same, I’m grateful for that.
If you made it this far, thank you for being here. It really means a lot.
xx becci
